Library 21 was a complex of two conjoined circular spaces, each 60 feet in diameter and surrounded by plexiglass or wood walls 6 feet high. The surrounding pools symbolized man’s explorations between continents, an early form of communication. IBM's network of transparent spheres stood alongside the bridge to the entrance. Arranged in geometrically increasing numbers, 3-D models depicted the explosion of information. A friendly librarian guide welcomed visitors.
