The Ready Reference Center, staffed with professional librarians, included some 730 reference books. Even the Sperry Rand Univac computer display was described as "an opportunity to ‘converse’ with the great minds of the Western world." Library 21 visitors could retrieve printed quotations from seventy-four authors, including Plato, Chaucer, Kant, and Cervantes (7). They could also access facts on 92 nations and talk to a librarian about the uses of computers in libraries (8).
